Speaker: Barbara Gibson
Barbara Gibson is Founder and CEO of Women & Girls in Politics, a start-up social enterprise which aims to get more women and girls interested in and active in politics at every level and across the political spectrum. Having been elected and served as a Member of European Parliament for seven months (before Brexit ended her term), Barbara is still a relative newcomer to politics, having spent a more than 25 years in the world of business communication.
Barbara’s career has focused on global business strategy and strategic communication. She holds a PhD in Intercultural Communication, with research on “The Intercultural Competencies Needed by Global CEOs.” In addition to consulting with companies worldwide, she has lectured on intercultural communication and global business for universities and business schools in the UK and across Europe.
She is a past chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and was recently named as a Fellow of the association. She is also past-president of SIETAR UK (the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) and a past International Group Chair of CIPR (the Chartered Institute of Public Relations).
